Model of the week: FERRETTI YACHTS 580: A star is born

Sporty look, modern style and clean design — the new 580-foot model in the Ferretti Yachts range combines the typical comfort of the brand with the aesthetics of modern luxury. With its full length of 18.24 m and an approximate width of 5 m, this beauty is the result of the collaboration between the Strategic Product Department under the leadership of Piero Ferrari and the engineering division of the Ferretti Group. The style of the exterior is once again the fruit of the efforts of arch. Filippo Salvetti, while the interiors are the work of Ideaeitalia, who have also collaborated for quite some time with Ferretti Yachts.

With a captivating design and a strong personality, the brand's new flybridge elevates the combination of sporty exterior styling and large living space to the highest levels. Despite its sporty appearance, the yacht offers an interior space typical of much larger vessels. In terms of technology, the Ferretti Yachts 580 incorporates the best solutions developed for much larger models in length.

The summer open bridge — the perfect place for fun

With its area of about 18 sq.m, the flybridge or the so-called open summer bridge of the boat, is cozy at any time of the day. Thanks to the functional and practical distribution of its space, it easily adapts to any needs and offers an indispensable 360-degree overview of the sea.

On the stern side there is a dining area — a comfortable C-shaped sofa, a centrally located teak table, a multifunctional bar, in other words — the ideal place for lively conversations and fun. There are two possible solutions to secure the sometimes desired shade of the summer bridge - an electric bimini top or a fixed hard top. It's all a matter of preference on the part of the owner and Ferretti gives this opportunity to choose.

Functional outdoor areas

All outdoor areas of the main deck are subject to reorganization and optimal use of space, for the sake of well-defined areas for recreation and relaxation. That's the purpose of boats — to have fun on board!

The aft cockpit is furnished with a forward-facing sofa and teak table — the perfect spot for outdoor dining. A new feature of the Ferretti Yachts 580 is the dual purpose of this place. If we slide the sofa as far back as possible, lower the table and cover the space so separated with pillows, we easily turn this area into a huge playground for sunbathing.

Special attention is paid to optimizing the luggage storage space in the outer areas of the boat. For this purpose, a 65-liter section is provided, located in the transom and under the steerboard ladder leading to the flybridge, while a cabinet and an ice generator can be ordered for the left deck of the cockpit.

You also have the option of equipping yourself with a dinghy (the option provides for Williams 325). It is intended to be stored on the stern bathing platform with a lifting function, which makes it easier to put the boat on the water and, accordingly, to put it back. When the platform is lowered, its retractable steps make it easier to get on and off.

Many configurations and discreet luxury on the main deck

The possibilities of various configurations and reorganizations of the outer space continue to be relevant when we enter the interior of the yacht. The interior decoration is available in two versions — classic or contemporary. Although they are different, they both have a clean, streamlined design, totally subordinate to Ferretti's advertising message —”Like at home”(from the English. -Just like home). This philosophy of the brand offers owners the pleasure of an elegant and cozy arrangement.

If you choose the classic interior layout option, you will get warm, earthy colors and elements, while if you bet on the contemporary, you will enjoy lacquered wood and upholstery in the fresh colors of the sea. In any case, however, both versions definitely carry the handwriting of the inimitable Italian style, mixed with practicality and a pinch of exclusivity, invariably emphasizing the idea of absolute comfort and discreet luxury.

The manufacturer gives a choice between two options for the main salon - with a fixed TV screen on the right board (up to 65 inches) or with a second sofa with a built-in lifting mechanism for TV. The main steering post has two remarkable seats made by Poltrona Frau. The 3D-printed dashboard has customization options and cutting-edge solutions.

Comfort for six on the lower deck

For the lower deck, buyers also have the option to choose between two versions, each with a total of six sleeping places spread over three cabins. The main one has an entrance room in the form of a studio or a boudoir with a dressing table with access to the bathroom and a wide staircase that leads to the bedroom itself, furnished with a double bed, wardrobes, a small sofa. Its total area is 17 sq.m. The main cabin enjoys abundant natural light, thanks to large windows and double smoked glass in the lobby ceiling.

The double VIP cabin is located at the front, while in the middle part on the right side is the one for guests with two single beds.

For maximum discretion of the guests on board, the entrance to the area provided for the crew is hidden behind the stern sofa in the cockpit.

Modern engines and technologies

The standard pair of VOLVO PENTA D13 engines, each with 900 hp, provides a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots according to preliminary data. The option of two engines of the same type, but with a capacity of 1000 hp each, is also provided. They will “rush” Ferretti Yachts 580 with a maximum of 32 knots and provide a cruising speed of 26.

On board and on board the new 58-foot star we will find all the latest technologies characteristic of the latest models of Ferretti Yachts, including the Xenta correction systems, the electro-hydraulic steering of the same name with the option of a joystick with X-AID function, a stabilization system with a gyroscope that allows the yacht to be equipped according to the specific navigation and port requirements of the their future owners.
